Alexander Zverev v Alex de Minaur Head to Head

The two youngsters have met only thrice on the circuit so far and not-so-surprisingly, Zverev has won all of those three matches. Their last encounter took place in the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters, where the German won comfortably in straight sets.

Zverev Continues to Shine in Acapulco

The German has been in good spirits over the course of the last week in the Mexican Open. He has won both of his matches so far in straight sets, and his most recent victim is David Ferrer.

In just an hour and 31 minutes, the second seed sailed to an easy win with 7-6(0), 6-1. In the process, he doled out nine aces and saved three break points. That win also marked his fourth consecutive win on the tour.

The reigning ATP Finals Champion incurred a shock defeat to Milos Raonic earlier this year in the fourth round of Australian Open. However, it appears that Zverev has certainly shaken that defeat off and has been playing some brilliant tennis.

He also played a pivotal role for his side in the Davis Cup against the Hungarian side, winning both of his singles ties.

De Minaur Looking Absolutely Brilliant This Year

Alex de Minaur, just 20 years of age, is an extremely talented player who has all the makings to become a top 10 star. After his last couple of wins in Acapulco, his win-loss tally now stands at 12-2.

He has already won a singles title this year – the ATP Sydney where he defeated Andreas Seppi in the final. He also reached the third round in the Australian Open, losing to Rafael Nadal. However, his recent form helped him reach his career-best ranking at the No. 26 position.

In this tournament so far, he first moved past Nicolas Jarry in three demanding sets and in the next round, he got a walkover when his opponent Feliciano Lopez withdrew from the match.

Alexander Zverev v Alex de Minaur Predictions & Tips

Zverev will be expected to win this one comfortably, just like the other three instances. However, by now, de Minaur is quite familiar with the German’s game and will be keen to avenge his previous losses. It wouldn’t be surprising if this one goes to three sets for which, Bet365 are offering 10/11 on total games over 22.5.

All in all, this fixture should be highly entertaining.
