Stan Wawrinka v Zizou Bergs Head to Head

After having struggled through the first couple of tournaments of the season, Wawrinka seemed to have come into his own at the Rotterdam Open.
At Rotterdam, Wawrinka first sent out the struggling Alexander Bublik in the first round and then overcame the in-form Richard Gasquet in the second. He won both in straight sets before Jannik Sinner got the better of him in the last eight stage.
Earlier this year, Wawarinka kick-started the season with a United Cup win over Bublik but lost to Hubert Hurkacz soon after. His only win after that in the lead-up to the Rotterdam Open came against Daniel Altmaier in the Davis Cup.
The Rotterdam performance took him closer to the top 100 on the ATP Rankings, something he hasn’t seen for himself since the second week of January last year. Can Wawrinka continue this run from the previous week and push on further?

Bergs’ Won Just Two Main Draw Matches All Career
Other than two Davis Cup singles victories, Bergs has won only two matches in main draws of ATP events and that’s a record he would so want to tweak.
His first victory came in 2020 on his ATP debut when he overcame Albert Ramos Vinolas at the Antwerp Open then. He then made it a second victory in Gstaad the following year with a win over Oscar Otte.
Since then, however, Bergs has not managed to do much of note at the highest level. It’s on the Challenger circuit that Bergs has found his mojo, winning four titles spread across the last two seasons.
This year though there has been nothing of note. Not even on the Challenger circuit. He did qualify for the Australian Open with three successive wins but an opening ouster at the Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve Challenger and a qualifier defeat in Rotterdam last week does not augur too well for his confidence.
