Roger Federer is one match away from his 100th career title, and in his way is the Greek sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas, who upset him in the Australian Open a few weeks ago. Federer did not have the most convincing of starts to the tournament this week, playing three setters in the earlier rounds, and looking rusty and short of match practice.

Federer played his best match of the week against another upcoming player, Borna Coric from Croatia. Coric had beaten Federer on the last two occasions they met, but Federer looked strong and in control from the beginning, and won comfortably 6-2, 6-2.

The Federer backhand, that was the cornerstone of his success in 2017, has looked vulnerable throughout the week. The Swiss will be hoping all aspects of his game are clicking, as he aims to win another Dubai title and be ready for the Sunshine Masters starting next week.
