Madison Keys v Victoria Azarenka Head to Head

World No. 23 Madison Keys is well on her way to turning things around in Dubai – but that joy may be shortlived.
Having beaten Jasmine Paolini and Caroline Garcia with relative ease, she will now face an adversary she has never defeated. However, the 7-5, 6-4 win over the in-form Garcia, which saw Madison play a disciplined game and hold her own, should be an inspiration.
Since leading the USA to its first United Cup win, Keys’ performance has been erratic at best. The 5-0 result there was followed by a third-round exit in the Australian Open and later a straight-set loss to Jelena Ostapenko in the WTA Doha.
The 28-year-old had a decent 2022 season, finishing 30-20 with a singles title and an 11th-place ranking.

Azarenka Upsets Anisimova
World No. 14 Victoria Azarenka survived a three-set slogfest against Anisimova, winning 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(5). It was a classic display experience triumphing youth, with the Belarusian keeping her calm in crucial moments and moving into the third round. There were moments when Anisimova had the upper hand; she had superior service and saved more breakpoints, but Azarenka got through only by the slimmest of the margins.
The 33-year-old is now 10-4, supported largely by her semifinal run in the Melbourne Slam, where she beat Sofia Kenin, Keys, Jessica Pegula, Lin Zhu, and Nadia Podoroska. Apart from this, she also reached the quarterfinal in Adelaide 1.
Two months in, Vika is already looking good to make up for her average 2022 spell, where she was 24-13. She hasn’t won a singles title since 2020 Cincinnati, so that is another thing likely to change this year – provided things go the way they are right now.
Azarenka v Keys Prediction and Tip
The dynamics have changed a bit since Madison’s win over Garcia. There was no doubt about American’s abilities as much as her form, and that success against Caro will do well for her confidence.
On the other hand, except for losing to Linda Nokova, who seems to be prodigious, all of Azarenka’s losses this year have come at the hands of the top 10 players. Keys certainly has the precedent – and all that remains now is for her to shake off that 0-4 dominance held by Victoria.
