ATP Indian Wells Masters to be Broadcast on Amazon Prime in UK

The ATP Indian Wells Masters will be telecast live on Amazon Prime Video, who now have the rights to the live and exclusive coverage of as many as 37 tournaments on the ATP circuit.

The tennis coverage on Amazon Prime Video had begun with the 2018 US Open and will now be expanded to other tennis tournaments for a five-year package.

This deal with Amazon will run from 2019 to 2023, and will see the all the ATP Masters 1000 events, the ATP Finals, the Next Gen ATP Finals, ATP 500s and 13 ATP 250s competitions broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video.

Separately, you can also watch the US Open live streaming with Amazon Prime till the 2022 edition of the competition.

If you are an Amazon Prime Video subscriber then you can access this coverage of the aforementioned tennis for free, but tennis fans all over would hope the coverage is better than the previous US Open where there were streaming issues around the quality and lack of options.

Indian Wells Masters coverage will include a commentary and analysis team that includes Catherine Whitaker, Greg Rusedski and Daniela Hantuchova. Others include Mark Petchey, Sam Smith, Robbie Koenig and Nick Lester.

For this Indian Wells Masters live streaming in the UK, and the remaining ones Amazon has said there will be “full, uninterrupted, live coverage from every televised court, all match replays normally available within 15 minutes, and highlights on demand the following day.”

In a press release, Alex Green, European MD of Sport at Amazon Prime Video, said:

“2019 marks the start of our exclusive tennis coverage on Prime Video, and we’re excited to offer tennis fans 37 ATP Tour events and the US Open, at no extra cost to a UK Prime membership.”

Juan Martin del Potro was the defending champion in this year’s Indian Wells Masters but has withdrawn from the competition because of a knee injury. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are expected to start off as the favourites to go the distance but the Next Gen stars like Alexander Zverev and co. could give them a good fight.
