Lin Zhu v Anna Bondar Head to Head

In what turned out to be a shock result in the first round of the Merida Open, Zhu was sent out in three sets by Caty McNally despite starting out as a 1/2 favourite. Zhu would have been particularly surprised by her capitulation in the final set which she lost 6-1.
Overall though, it has been a season to remember for Zhu.
Starting out the year ranked outside the top 80, Zhu is knocking on the doors of making into the top 40 of the WTA Rankings and a couple of solid tournament showings will be enough for her to be able to do just that.
And this has been down to her showing at the Australian Open where he shocked Maria Sakkari on her way to the fourth round. Zhu followed it up with her second career WTA title at the Hua Hin Open to inch further up the rankings.
She will be a favourite starting out against Bondar.

Bondar’s Won Just Two Matches This Season
Bondar had featured in a couple of tournaments before the Australian Open, then made her way into the season’s first Grand Slam and participated in two competitions after that. Unfortunately for her, she has won just two matches so far.
At the Adelaide International and Adelaide International 2, Bondar failed to even make it past the qualifiers.
Eventually at the Australian Open, Bondar won her first match of the season, defeating Ana Bogdan but then fell in the second round to the impressive Jelena Ostapenko.
Another opening round win In Lyon would have been good for her confidence but she has now lost two in a row since then.
And now coming up against Zhu, things might not get any easier for the Hungarian player.
