Daniil Medvedev v Borna Coric

Daniil Medvedev and Borna Coric are a very fun matchup on paper because there are some differences in how they approach tennis. The Croatian should have a tricky time in theory against Medvedev but he can make it difficult for him.

He had some success against him in the past but their most recent clashes went to Medvedev. It’s been a while since they played with their most recent matches in 2019 and things changed since then. The reason why Coric can hurt him is because of his serve and willingness to go forward if he needs to.

Medvedev will play as well as he always does. He’ll sit back and patiently wait but he might need to wait until the tiebreak and that’s always a big gamble.

Right now though, Medvedev seems to be playing on a higher level and I’ll back him to win. For those more daring among you, you can also try a win in straight sets but be aware that it can be risky, especially with the loose style the Russian plays.

Tip: Medvedev to win: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Andrey Rublev v Botic van de Zandschulp

Andrey Rublev isn’t playing his best tennis lately but he’s been able to pick up wins here and there. Sometimes with a bit of luck, sometimes with incredible play, the Russian is into another quarter-final. He saved five consecutive match points in his previous match to get there and that was not a typo.

It doesn’t seem like this will be an easy won because van de Zandschulp won both of their recent clashes. The most recent one was in 2021 on Russian soil and Botic still won. It’s a matchup thing because he has a powerful serve and Rublev can get frustrated at times.

Botic also plays very flat groundstrokes which are tough to handle and he’ll have plenty of time to set up here with the slower hard court. The key to winning for Rublev is exactly what he did in his previous match. Stay patient and wait for his chance.

And serve well because if he gives Botic too many looks on his serve, the Dutch player will eventually get it done. As it currently stands, an over seems likely.

Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Alexander Zverev v Lorenzo Sonego

This promises to be a really good matchup between two players who seemed to have found something good in Dubai. Both Zverev and Sonego didn’t play too well before this event but are looking very strong right now. Sonego is a streaky player.

He has weeks like this when everything works for him and mainly it’s the serve. He can play incredibly when he’s serving well. It’s not that different from Zverev as he posted 30 winners in his round two win. The German is playing aggressively, something many wanted to see for a long time.

To be completely fair, anything can really happen in this matchup. Zverev won their only previous matchup on clay but they never played on hard courts.

I have a sneaky suspicion that we might see three sets in this one but I still like Zverev to win. He’s been very solid and the serve is on point.

Tip: Zverev to win: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
