Andy Murray v Jack Draper

Andy Murray won his first match in straight sets in the previous round and he’ll be hoping to do that against Draper. It’s going to be tough and it probably won’t happen but there will be chances for the British player as the match will be played later in slower conditions.

The key for winning this matchup for Murray is to try and make Draper very uncomfortable on the court. The younger Brit has the bigger weapons right now with his forehand and serve but he can be beaten. Murray proved it himself when he beat him at the Battle of the Brits at the start of this season.

The most likely outcome is still Draper winning as he showed a really high level at this event here. There is no rust, the injury concerns are over and he’s looked really sharp and really focused. When that is the case he’s a better player than Murray.

I could see this one going three sets and then anything can happen in a decider but to me, it’s pretty clear that Draper should win.

Tip: Draper to win: 3/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Emma Raducanu v Beatriz Haddad Maia

Emma Raducanu is playing with an injured wrist but that doesn’t seem to impact her too much as she’s winning matches. She’s yet to play a really good player though so perhaps when she gets uncomfortable on the court, things will look different.

Expect Haddad Maia to make things really uncomfortable for her because the Brazilian is just a better fit on these slower courts. She’s like going to force a lot of longer rallies patiently waiting for her chance to strike. She was excellent on a similar court in Doha.

Raducanu will need to be really good from the baseline as she can’t afford to spray too many errors. The wrist is an annoyance but she’s managing it really well so far. If she can keep focus and reduce errors we’ll likely see a really competitive match.

We haven’t seen them play so far so there is nothing to draw upon. Gut feeling tells me that Haddad Maia will win the match.

Tip: Haddad Maia to win: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Stan Wawrinka v Holger Rune

Another really interesting matchup is the one between Wawrinka and Rune. We saw this one in Paris last year and Wawrinka actually held match points against the Danish player but the youngster wiggled out. He would later beat Novak Djokovic in the final to win that event.

This matchup comes in vastly different conditions but also at a time when Rune is not playing as well as he did that time. He’s still doing really well but so is Wawrinka. Their Paris matchup as really competitive and I can see something similar unfolding here.

The keys for winning this matchup are the same for both. Serve as well as you can to try and win easy points and be very consistent from the baseline. Rune has the advantage of being willing to go forward more which could be a way to break the rhythm.

I do think the Dane will et the win in the end but I don’t expect it to be a thrashing so the real value comes in the over on games.

Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
