Daniil Medvedev v Alex Molcan Head to Head

Following a first round bye, Medvedev notched up his 25th win of the season – to go with a mere three defeats – as he rushed to a 6-1, 6-2 win over his Spaniard win.
In a match lasting a mere 63 minutes, Medvedev faced just one break-point and saved it. On the other hand, he broke his opponent every time he earned himself a break-point – which was four times.
Winning 72% of his first serves, Medvedev followed on from his Indian Wells Open finals appearance to take one step closer to his best-ever performance at this tournament. He has been a two-time quarterfinalist in Miami and will hope he can do a lot better than that given his rich vein of form.

Molcan Makes it Two Shock Wins in a Row
For the second tournament in a row, Molcan has won a couple of rounds to make it to the third round. But what has been most impressive about those wins is that Molcan had gone into all of those matches as a second-favourite.
At the Indian Wells Masters, Molcan faced Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Borna Coric in the first two rounds, entering as 6/5 and 5/2 underdog. Here in Miami, Molcan was 6/5 odds to get past Jordan Thompson in the first round and did that in three sets.
And then in the second, he faced Yoshihito Nishoka, starting out a 11/10 underdog. In two hours and 31 minutes, Molcan had won 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-2 to make it to the third round of the Miami Masters on his debut in this tournament.
While Molcan could see his run end here by the might of Medvedev, it must be quickly said that he could break into the top 50 again irrespective of the result of this encounter.
