Kamilla Rakhimova v Peyton Stearns Head to Head

World no. 90 Kamilla Rakhimova battled past Sara Sorribes Tormo in a two-hour-and-15-minute contest on Friday.
The Russian raced to a 4-0 lead in the first set before Sorribes Tormo came back to draw level 4-4, but a third break late in the first set allowed Rakhimova to clinch a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, the Spaniard built a 1-4 lead. Rakhimova came back to draw level at 4-4, but Sorribes Tormo broke again and then held three set points on her serve at 4-5, but a determined Rakhimova saved all the set points, broke serve and then broke again in the final game to complete a 6-4, 7-5 victory.
She had also needed over two hours and 23 minutes to beat Eugenie Bouchard in a three-set second round contest and two hours and six minutes to beat Raluca Georgiana Serban in straight sets in the first round.
The 21-year-old is 13-9 for the season and that includes an ITF title this year. She had also reached the semifinals in Bogota last year.

Stearns Edges Past Zidansek
World no. 116 Peyton Stearns edged past Tamara Zidansek to book a place in the final four.
The Bogota debutant converted 7 of 13 break points and saved 2 of 8 to beat the world no. 110, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.
Stearns is 23-5 in 2023 and has won two ITF titles while finishing runner-up in one of them. She is 9-2 on clay, across levels.
The American, who was a quarterfinalist in Austin, had begun her Bogota challenge with a 6-3, 6-1 thrashing of Spain’s Rosa Vicens Mas in the first round. She then knocked out Elina Avanesyan 6-4, 6-1 in the second round.
This is the first WTA clay court event for Stearns and she has found her way into the first tour semifinal. Can she keep the momentum going?
Rakhimova v Stearns Prediction and Tip
Rakhimova is the more experienced player and she was also the semifinalist last year. However, Stearns is in brilliant form this season and has been excellent in the tournament so far. It will be a close contest with Stearns expected to edge through.
