Huesler Struggling Recent Times

Huesler had risen from 194th in the world to 56th last season thanks to his maiden ATP title win and then to his career-best ranking of 47th before settling in on 60th at the moment.

The not so good news for the Swiss player is his recent form which has seen him lose one match after another.

In fact since winning both his singles matches in the Davis Cup and then clinching a first round win at the Montpellier Open earlier this season, Huesler went on a five-match losing streak at the highest level.

It was only in Miami finally that Huesler made it past the first round when he scraped past Albert Ramos-Vinolas there. A second round defeat followed soon after and Huesler then lost his opener at the Monte-Carlo Masters to Jaume Munar.

Overall, Huesler has a 5-7 win-loss record on clay at the highest level but has won four Challenger titles on dirt. Can he clinch his maiden victory of the season on this surface?

Edmund Goes Back to the Futures Tour

He is just 28 years old, and was once ranked 14th in the world. Today, Edmund has been forced to play on the Futures Tour, after having fallen to outside of the top 500 on the ATP Rankings charts and that would be a cause for concern.

Such has been his poor run of form that Edmund won his first set of the season at the Murcia Challenger in the early parts of this month. And even there he was knocked out in the first round by Marco Trungelliti.

Edmund finally won a couple of rounds on the Futures circuit earlier this week, before losing to a player ranked outside the top 1500.

At some point Edmund will rediscover his form but for the moment, it looks highly unlikely that he would be able to test Huesler.
