Karolina Pliskova v Anett Kontaveit Head to Head

Pliskova and Kontaveit have met only once on the tour prior to this encounter. The match took place in the 2018 WTA Stuttgart, where the Czech defeated Kontaveit to reach the final.

Pliskova Continues to be Consistent

Pliskova, who has lost just three matches so far this year, has been highly confident and determined. She has been playing the sport with such finesse and consistency that it comes as no surprise to see her in the top five.

Most recently, she was the quarterfinalist in WTA Dubai – a feat she achieved after winning the WTA Brisbane and reaching the semifinal in the Australian Open.

In Indian Wells this year, she hasn’t had that many problems to reach the fourth round. While she did lose a set against Misaki Doi in the first round, she managed to stage a sensational comeback and took the match 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-1. Her next fixture against Ysaline Bonaventure was quite easy as she won that one in straight sets.

Kontaveit’s Best Run of the Year

Anett Kontaveit, who is currently enjoying life as the World No. 21, has delivered the best performance of her season in Indian Wells. Enjoying a bye into the second round, she first dispatched Monica Puig in straight sets.

After that, she went up against Anastasija Sevastova but got a walkover after the Latvian withdrew from the match in the first set.

In comparison to Pliskova, her form so far hasn’t been that great. With the sole exception of WTA Brisbane, where she was a quarterfinalist, Kontaveit never made it past the early rounds in subsequent events. She lost in the second round in Sydney, Melbourne, and Doha.

Her last event was WTA Dubai, where she lost to Shuai Zhang in the opener.

Karolina Pliskova v Anett Kontaveit Tips & Predictions

It is hard to imagine Kontaveit knock out Pliskova in the fourth round here. However, the Estonian has managed to deliver some interesting wins over her career against many top 10 players and she will certainly fancy her chances here.

Tip: Pliskova to win: 4/11 (Unibet)
