World No. 32 Bernarda Pera will play France’s Diane Parry for the first time.

Bernarda Pera is ranked #32 in the rankings – a new career high for the American which should be enough to get her a seeding spot at the 2023 French Open.
It would be the first time that Pera will be seeded at a Grand Slam, which comes on the backdrop of a fantastic 18 months.
Pera won two WTA titles last year, both on clay and had the second-best winning streak on the surface behind Iga Swiatek.
The lefty hasn’t managed to get any clay-court momentum under her belt thus far this season, winning back-to-back matches only in Charleston and losing early in both Madrid and Rome.
She can still salvage her European clay swing by winning in Strasbourg.

Parry Through to Paris 125K Finals
At the time of writing, Diane Parry is due to play in the Paris final this Sunday – the 125K series tournament.
The Frenchwoman is into her second final at that level, having captured the one title in Montevideo a couple of seasons ago.
Parry’s ranking will shoot up to inside the top 100, re-entering it for the second time in her career. She is a recipient of Roland Garros wild card, so doesn’t need to overcome the hurdle of playing qualifying at the clay slam.
The only downside to her participation in Strasbourg is whether fatigue could kick in and become a factor.
Pera v Parry Prediction and Tip
Parry has had a relatively smooth week in Paris at the 125K level, winning all but one match in straight sets en route to the final. Bernarda Pera will need to be wary here having struggled to get going on the European clay.
