Last year, she competed in all the four Grand Slams as a junior and reached the quarterfinal and beyond. Her best run came in the US Open, where she won the junior singles title. Additionally, she won the Wimbledon junior doubles title in the very same season.

Wang also won a couple of ITF tournaments last year. As for her form this season, the teen reached the quarterfinal in the ITF event in Burnie and made it to the opening round in the 125K Series event in Guadalajara as a qualifier.

In Miami, she has been awarded a wildcard into the main draw and has certainly made the most of it. Wang defeated Monica Puig in her opening match in straight sets in just an hour.

Bertens Looking Confident

Bertens has had a rather decent start to the season although, she can definitely improve her form further. She won the title in St. Petersburg in February, after defeating the likes of Aryna Sabalenka and Donna Vekic. Apart from this, Bertens was a semifinalist in Sydney and a quarterfinalist in Doha.

Coming to her performance in the Indian Wells, she reached the fourth round where she succumbed to a very determined Garbine Muguruza in three sets.

The 27-year-old has been in a good form of late and is one of the few players who is consistent enough to stay in the top 10.
