Norrie Begins Grass Campaign

After going through a solid season in hardcourt competitions and on clay, Norrie will now kick-start his campaign on grass this year with this opening round match in London.

And Norrie can be expected to do as well if not better than his current 29-11 record for the season as he takes to court for his opener at the Queen’s competition.

Last year, Norrie had shown what he is capable of at the highest level as he made the semifinal at Wimbledon before falling in four sets at the hands of Novak Djokovic. It was a great coming home for Norrie who had done well in smaller tournaments but never quite challenged his opponents at Grand Slam tennis.

Here we are now back on grass where Norrie will look to look to better his showing from last year at Queen’s. Before his Wimbledon semis, he had been knocked out of this competition in 2022 in the very first round.

Kecmanovic on a Three-Match Losing Streak

When Kecmanovic reached the final of the Estoril Open earlier in April 2022, Kecmanovic did not realise he would soon be struggling to make it count as wins.

Since that day, Kecmanovic has featured in 11 matches at the highest level and won just three while his eight defeats have consisted of three in a row coming into this tournament in London.

After getting knocked out in the first round at the French Open earlier this month, Kecmanovic was sent packing at the Rosmalen Open last week in what was his first match on grass for the season.

There, it was the comeback player Milos Raonic who shrugged off the 6/4 odds to defeat the Serbian player.

It also brought Kecmanovic’s performances on grass since the start of the 2021 season to 3-6 on win-loss. Can he turn things around here?

Norrie v Kecmanovic Prediction and Tip

This shouldn’t cause too many issues for Norrie who starts off a favourite to win in two.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Norrie to win: 4/11
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Norrie to win in straight sets: 1/1
