They played twice and Cristian won both matches on clay.

Cristian Winless on Grass All-time

Jaqueline Cristian never won a single match on grass though she didn’t play that much as well. The Romanian 0-6 in her career on the surface including two losses this year. The first one came in Gaiba where she was beaten by Sinja Kraus. The second one happened in Bad Homburg where she was beaten by Varvara Gracheva.

Her best surface is clay so it’s not hard to imagine why she struggles with playing but she can certainly win matches. It shouldn’t be a problem for her in the future but she needs to play more on it to get comfortable. It’s going to be tough against Bronzetti who seems to be a better fit on the surface.

Cristian beat her twice so far but both of those matches came on clay. She’s had a pretty good year so far with 31 wins and 17 losses which is why the losses on grass were so surprising. She’s not having a bad year but the matches weren’t really that close.

It’s going to be tough and she’s the heavy underdog so make of that what you will.

Bronzetti Looking Good

Lucia Bronzetti is having a really solid year with 20 wins in 38 matches. Most of those matches have come against good players on the WTA Tour which is what matters. She’s stabilized herself in the top 100 as a really solid player and is not going anywhere else.

The Italian will begin her Wimbledon campaign with a 3-1 record after winning a couple of matches in Bad Homburg. She beat Julia Grabher, Mayar Sherif, Varvara Gracheva and Iga Swiatek who actually pulled out before that match.

Katerina Siniakova proved better in the final but it’s a really good result for Bronzetti who will arrive in London with a lot of confidence. She never beat Cristian before but that’s only going to motivate her to do better.

She’s the better player on grass and should have more controversy so keep that in mind. She’s also heavily favoured on the odds.

Cristian v Bronzetti Prediction and Tip

Bronzetti is heavily favoured and I agree with that. Anything but her win would be a huge surprise. If you feel adventurous play her to win 2-0.
