Giron Cruises in Round One

Marcos Giron had a really good draw in the first round getting a clay player that hasn’t played that much on clay and has only one win ever. The American expectedly had a really easy time cruising in three sets. He played a super solid match posting 41 winners along with 16 aces.

Dellien tried to do some stuff but Giron was ready for much of it using his speed to bait the Bolivian into mistakes. It worked well for him but he’ll need a bit more for the Hungarian. The American generally had a pretty solid year with 18 wins in 35 matches going 2-3 on grass before the event.

His record on the surface has been pretty solid, 15-13 before Wimbledon. It’s in line with him being just a solid player, not great but solid enough to play some of these grand slams.

Giron doesn’t necessarily have too much power and that’s the issue. I don’t think eh can really outhit Fucsovics and that’s what he’ll need to do to win the match.

Fucsovics Beats Griekspoor

Tallon Griekspoor has had a really strong grass season going 7-1 before Wimbledon Even so he was no match against Marton Fucsovics who has had some solid performances in Wimbledon reaching the quarter-final back in 2021.

The Hungarian has always been a pretty solid player on the grass because he has a solid serve and pretty flat shots that work really well on the grass. The win over Griekspoor was pretty comfortable, he really didn’t have any issues hitting 25 winners along with aces.

In fairness, the Dutch player didn’t play his best match, far from it actually but Fucsovics will take it. Giron will present a different challenge for Marton as he won’t play himself out of a match. Fuscovics will have to take the initiative and win the match though he did that the only time they played.

If he produces a solid level then I expect him to win. He’s 24-15 on the year with a 5-1 record on the grass so far this year.

Giron v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

I do think Fucsovics is the better player so I’m going to side with him to win the match.
