Kiki Bertens v Ashleigh Barty Head to Head

The tally between the two players is presently dominated by Barty, who has won all of their three meetings. They met as recently as the 2019 Sydney International, where Barty defeated Bertens in three sets.

A Similar Run for the Two Ladies

The last couple of weeks have been eerily similar for Barty and Bertens. In the Indian Wells Open, for instance, the two reached as far as the fourth round where they lost respectively to Elina Svitolina and Garbine Muguruza.

Even in Miami, they enjoyed a bye into the second round started with a straight-set win. The score in both the cases was 6-4, 6-1, with Barty defeating Dayana Yastremska while Bertens dispatched Xiyu Wang.

The Australian then faced Samantha Stosur and went past her with ease while Bertens faced some resistance against Viktoria Kuzmova. However, the Dutch prevailed at the end in three sets.

The similarities between the two players do not stop there. Both of them have achieved a great deal this season, starting with achieving their career-high singles ranking. Barty is currently the World No. 11 while Bertens is at the No. 8 position although, she was at the seventh place in February.

Bertens’ best run came in the St. Petersburg Open, where she won the title defeating the likes of Aryna Sabalenka and Donna Vekic. She was also a quarterfinalist in Doha. As for Barty, she is yet to win a title this year albeit, she was the runner-up in Sydney and reached the quarterfinal in Melbourne.

The young Aussie also did well to win both of her Fed Cup ties.

Ashleigh Barty v Kiki Bertens Tips and Predictions:

Bertens has more winning experience than Barty and consequently, she will start as the favourite here. However, she has never defeated her Australian adversary before and this can very well end in yet another defeat for her. This will be an evenly contested tie that can go either way.
