Koepfer In Good Form

He had a good run in the last two tournaments that he featured in and now Dominik Koepfer will be looking to continue the good work in Winston-Salem, where he makes his fourth appearance.

The German lost in the first round on his tournament debut in 2017 and made it to the round of 16 in his last two appearances in 2018 and 2021.

It will be interesting to see if he can go deeper this year. The 29-year-old lefty did not play any tour level tournament until the Wimbledon this year. Since then he has played just three tournaments, all tour level competitions. While he lost in the first round in Wimbledon, he made it to the quarterfinals in Atlanta and went a step further in Los Cabos, losing to Alex de Minaur in the semifinal.

Koepfer is 5-3 at the tour level but 32-12 across levels in 2023, which includes four Challenger finals, of which he won two and lost two.

Can Koepfer start off with a win?

Lestienne Comes in a Winner of Stanford Challenger

Constant Lestienne is coming off a fantastic week that saw the Frenchman lift his seventh Challenger title by defeating Emilio Nava in the final of the Stanford Challenger on Saturday.

It was Lestienne’s first title of the season and it comes in as a vital breakthrough for the 31-year-old, who has been woefully out of form this year.

He started off the season well by reaching the semifinals in Auckland, and also the second round at the Australian Open, but since then he struggled to win matches. He entered the Stanford Challenger with a poor 9-21 record, however, five wins later, he enters Winston-Salem with a much-improved 14-21 season record.

Can Lestienne keep his winning run going?

Koepfer v Lestienne Prediction and Tip

Expect this one to be a good contest. Lestienne has finally found form and he also has a 2-0 edge against Koepfer. The German on the other hand has gone deep in his last two ATP events. So a close battle is on the cards, with Koepfer expected to edge through.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Koepfer to win: 1/2 (with bet365)
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (with bet365)
