Eubanks Has Been Consistent This Year

A quarterfinalist at Wimbledon this year, Christopher Eubanks will be making his fifth appearance at the U.S. Open. After losing in the first round in 2017, 2019 and 2021, he got his first win in 2022, beatg Pedro Martinez, but he went down to Jannik Sinner in round 2.

This year has been different though for the 27-year-old American, who not only broke into the top 100 for the first time but also showed constant improvement in the rankings, rising to a career-high of no. 29 in July.

Currently ranked no. 30, Eubanks has been impressive right from the start of the season. He reached his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal in Miami; reached his maiden ATP final in Mallorca, where he won the title by beating Adrian Mannarino and then continued the winning run at Wimbledon, reaching his first major quarterfinal before being stopped by Daniil Medvedev.

A quarterfinalist in Atlanta during the current North American swing, Eubanks will be worried about his recent form as he comes into the tournament on the back of three consecutive defeats. Eubanks lost in the second round in Washington before making first round exits from Toronto and Cincinnati. Can he return to winning ways in New York?

It was his first title since his maiden success in Astana in 2021 as he result he became the first South Korean with multiple ATP titles.

The 25-year-old will be playing in the New York major for the fifth times. He has reached the second round twice. Can he shake off rustiness and return with a win in the opening round?
