Peyton Stearns started her journey in the Slam with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Viktoriya Tomova.
The 21-year-old has made personal history by making it to round for the first time in her career. All things considered, she will be confident heading into this match.
After all, the American has recorded 40 wins to 17 losses in 2023 and bagged two titles in the process – ITF Orland and ITF Rome. Stearns also featured in her first WTA singles final – Copa Colsanitas – losing ultimately to Tatjana Maria.
