Lin Zhu v Xinyu Wang Head to Head
Zhu has won both their previous meetings. One of those wins came at the US Open in 2019 and the other in Hua Hin this year.

Top seed Lin Zhu moved into the semifinals with a straight sets win over American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik.
The Chinese, world no. 35, needed an hour and 16 minutes to beat Mandlik 6-3, 6-2.
Zhu saved 5 of 8 break points and converted 7 of 8 to end Mandlik’s run in the tournament, which began in the qualifying rounds.
For Zhu, it will be her fifth tour level semifinal of the season. While she went on to win her maiden title in her first ever final in Hua Hin, she lost in the final four stage in Monterrey, Birmingham and Cleveland.
Zhu improved to 26-18 across levels following Friday’s win. She is 22-13 on hard courts this year and 8-2 in her last 10 matches.
She began her Osaka campaign with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Xiyu Wang and then went on to beat Moyuka Uchijima 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the round of 16. After scoring another strong win in the quarterfinal, she will now be aiming to reach a second final of the season on Saturday.

Wang Holds Off Putintseva
World no. 39 Xinyu Wang put up a gallant show as she battled past Yulia Putintseva in the quartefinal on Friday.
After Wang won the first set in a tiebreak, Putintseva won the second in the tiebreak to send the contest into the decider. The Chinese player got the sole break of the final set in the eighth game before sealing the two hour and 53 minute contest 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (1-7), 6-3.
Wang had won her previous matches in straight sets, beating Jil Teichmann 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in the first round and Himeno Sakatsume 6-4, 6-2 in the second round.
With the three wins in the tournament, Wang is now 15-2 from her last 17 matches. That run includes a title success at Landisville 2 ITF; a run from qualifiers to the quarterfinals in Cleveland and her maiden fourth round appearance at a Grand Slam at the US Open.
Also a semifinalist in Hua Hin, Wang will be playing in her second tour level semifinal of the season with an aim to reaching her first WTA final.
Zhu v Wang Prediction and Tip
Zhu holds a slight edge in this match. She won both their previous meetings and is in fine form. Wang on the other hand is also in fantastic form and she will test Zhu but the top seed should keep her chances of a second title alive with a win on Saturday.
