Andrey Rublev v Taylor Fritz Head to Head

Fritz leads 4-3 head-to-head, but Rublev won their most recent meeting in Monte Carlo, which was also their only meeting this year.

Rublev Is 44-18 This Year

After Team World won all four of their matches on Day 1, there will be pressure on Andrey Rublev to make a good start on Day 2 as Team Europe looks to make a comeback.

Ranked no. 6th in the world, Rublev is making his second appearance in Laver Cup and he lost his only round robin match in 2021.

This year, the 14-time tour level champion has a 44-18 season record. He has won two titles from five finals and has consistently made deep runs in tournaments.

However, ever since winning the Bastad Open title in late July, he lost a bit of form, only to regain some of it at the US Open, where he reached a ninth major quarterfinal. However, like the previous eight occasions, he once again fell in the last eight stage.

There will be pressure on Rublev to put Team Europe on the board and it will be interesting to see how he deals with it against a fellow top 10 player.

Fritz Is 49-20 in 2023

World no. 8 Taylor Fritz is making a third appearance in Laver Cup. The American lost won and won one in 2019 and won his only match in the round robin phase last year.

The 25-year-old Fritz is one win away from 50 wins this year. He has a 49-20 record this season and has won two of his six career titles this year.

Fritz’s first titel came in Delray Beach and the other in Atlanta.

Like Rublev, he has also been a consistent performer this year and is 15-4 in the last 19 matches, which date back to the start of the North American swing.

With Team World 4-0 up, there will be slightly less pressure on Fritz, but with 2 points per win at stake on Saturday, things could turn around quickly, therefore, he will be desperate to keep his team’s perfect record intact.

Rublev v Fritz Prediction and Tip

Rublev’s the better player on indoor hard courts and therefore will have a slight edge going into this match.
