Nadia Podoroska was never known to be the greatest performer on hard courts, but the Argentine player is showing a really solid level this week in Ningbo. She bested a fatigued Wang, who recently won a trophy in a really close and competitive match.

Siniakova Shining in Ningbo
Katerina Siniakova is a very capable player, and while mostly known as a doubles specialist, she’s more than capable of being a good singles player. We’ve seen her produce some amazing efforts in the past, and this week, she found her stroke.
She first bested Elizabeth Mandlik in two easy sets in round one and followed that up with another solid performance to outlast Sorana Cirstea. Those are very impressive wins, especially the latter.
She loves to attack but mostly loves to compete. You will never win an easy point against Siniakova, which gives most players trouble – the fighting spirit that never wavers.
Expect her to bring it to this match as well, and honestly, on hard courts, she looks like a better bet to win than her opponent.

I think Siniakova is the better player and is playing better right now, though we could see a close match that goes to three sets. The over is not a bad option in this spot.
