Elena Rybakina v Mirra Andreeva Head to Head

Rybakina and Andreeva are facing off for the first time in their careers.

Rybakina v Andreeva Match Winning Odds*

Rybakina Ends Maria’s Campaign

It wasn’t the best of starts to Rybakina in her second round match against Tatjana Maria but once she got more and more into the contest, the traffic started to become more and more one-way.

In the end, Rybakina required a mere hour and 11 minutes to clinch her third round berth, of which only 25 minutes for her second set win.

The 2022 Wimbledon winner overcame an early trade of service breaks before grabbing an all-important break in the 12th game of the first set to go one-zip up. In the second, there wasn’t too much resistance from Maria, whose service totally fell apart.

In fact, Maria won just five points on her own serve in the decider, even as Rybakina broke her three times to clinch a 7-5, 6-0 victory.

Rybakina, who had withdrawn from the Tokyo Open a week or so ago because of fitness issues, will now look to make it three wins in as many matches as she tries to recapture her place in the top three of the rankings.

Andreeva Continues to Amaze

A third round appearance at the French Open, a fourth round at Wimbledon and Andreeva now has a chance to make it through to the quarterfinal at the China Open here.

Having qualified for the main draw without dropping a set, Andreeva had shocked Barbora Krejcikova in the first round. That she dropped just four games in that encounter was an even bigger surprise.

In the second round, Andreeva went on to dish out a similar dose, defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2, 6-1 in a matter of a mere 64 minutes.

She saved three break-points on her own serve while getting past her opponent’s serve on five occasions to grab the win.

And while Andreeva doesn’t quite start the favourite here, she will have the confidence under her belt to test out the world number five.

Rybakina v Andreeva Prediction and Tip

While we think Rybakina should win this, Andreeva’s recent results tell us she might not make that effort very easy for her. Expect a straight-setter which sees a tie-breaker or even the match to go into a third set.
