Hurkacz Ousts Kokkinakis

No. 16 seed Hubert Hurkacz knocked out Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round of the Shanghai Masters on Friday.

The Polish player put up a string service display, serving 17 aces in the match. He got 70% of his first serve in and won 86% points on the back of his delivery.

Hurkacz saved the only break point that he faced and converted the only one that he held, during a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 victory.

Hsu’s Stunning Form Continues

Qualifier Yu Hsiou Hsu stunned 17th seed Lorenzo Musetti to reach the third round of the Shanghai Masters in what is his first ever ATP 1000 tournament.

He also made his Masters qualifying debut in the tournament. Hsu defeated Miljan Zekić in straight sets in the first qualifying round and then ralied from a set down to beat Sun Fajing in the second qualifying round.

He carried that form into the main draw and ousted Max Purcell in at three set thriller in the opening round on Wednesday.

On Friday, he got his biggest win in terms of rankings, beating the world no. 18, 6-3, 6-4.

Hsu saved 2 of 3 break points and converted 4 of 10 and struck 25 winners, while making just three unforced errors in the match.
