Alexander Zverev v John Millman Head to Head

The two men have never played each before – this will be the first meeting between the 22-year-old German, and the Australian seven years his senior.

Zverev – Can He Find Form in Paris?

It would be fair to say that Zverev has had a disappointing year so far. Regarded at the start of 2019 as the next man most likely to win a Grand Slam event, he got just one final to date in Acapulco, although he is on course , although he is poised to make that two in Geneva.

Apart from that his record is littered with early defeats, often to players ranked well below him in the world. As a consequence of this, he has seen his own world ranking slip, and he is now behind both Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem in the standings.

Therefore, he will be hopeful of a run deep into the tournament in Roland Garros as he tries to get his season back on track.

Millman Has Never Won a Match in Paris

This is the fourth time that Millman has made the main draw in Paris,, but he has yet to win a match at Roland Garros, having gone out at the first round stage for the past three years.

As his record shows, clay is his least preferred surface – he is much more at home on hard courts. However, he does have some clay court titles to his name on the Challenger circuit, with his most recent triumph coming in Aix-en-Provence last May when he defeated compatriot Bernard Tomic in the final.

While Zverev might not be in the best of form, it would be difficult to enter into the competition with that kind of a record against a top-ranked player like his German opponent.

Zverev v Millman Predictions & Tips

Zverev is odds-on favourite to win this match at 3/19, whilst Millman is priced at 51/10. Zverev may not be in the best of form, but he is playing a man who has never won a single match in this tournament, and he is to snap that losing record this time.

Tip: Zverev to win in straight sets: 4/5 (888Sport)
