The world number one has a draw that gets more challenging in the latter rounds with potential meetings with Stanislas Wawrinka, Daniil Medvedev and Roger Federer among others and will be looking for another routine outing to keep himself fresh as the tournament progresses.
A good performance against his second round unheralded Argentine opponent will give him the confidence and rest needed for later in the week.

Argentine Juan Ignacio Londero won his first tour level match at the 2019 Córdoba Open against Nicolas Jarry and continued to win his first title that tournament, defeating Guido Pella in the final. He then qualified for the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time at the French Open and made the round of 16 before losing to the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal.
Another strong showing, being a losing finalist at the Swedish Open last month saw the Argentine reach a career best ranking of 56 on the ATP tour.
With a game well suited to the clay courts, the 25-year-old Argentine has good court coverage and strong baselines strokes on either wing.
The Argentine’s US Open campaign is off to a confident start defeating former top ten player from the US, Sam Querrey in four sets, recovering after a first set loss.
Djokovic v Londero Predictions & Tips
Londero comes to this match as an underdog and despite a good run this year, the odds will be stacked against him heavily in this match.
The Argentine will look to continue the good form he has shown all year and is certainly capable of challenging the best. He will be particularly confident after his win against Querrey, a strong home favorite.
However, it is the US Open against Novak Djokovic, who is very comfortable here and should find his rhythm in good time. Expect some good points and close games, but a straight set win for the Serb seems to be the most likely outcome.
