Roger Federer v Damir Dzumhur Preview & Tips:
Federer was taken to four sets by unheralded Sumit Nagal, losing the opening set of that encounter. However, once he found his rhythm he was tough to play against and came through easily. He has also won both his previous encounters against Damir Dzumhur, his second round opponent and you would expect him to come through easily yet again.
Dzumhur has had a fall in his own rankings thanks to a horrid run this year, winning just 17 of the 38 matches he has played. Even his win against Elliot Benchetrit, a player ranked outside the top 225, was filled with errors and struggles and needed him four sets. This should be an easy one for Federer.

Novak Djokovic v Juan Ignacio Londero Preview & Tips:
Djokovic hadn’t played his first round before that match and he is yet to face Juan Ignacio Londero so far in his career either. That is the only factor that might stall a perfect setting for Djokovic to try and make it to the second round in as easy a manner as he could, with the best winning odds for his win at 1/33 (some are offering as low as 1/100 even!)
It’s been hell of a year for Londero, having qualified for a Grand Slam for the first time ever and having also won his first senior title at the ATP level. However, even for him to challenge Djokovic will need a lot out of him because his most preferred surface is clay and Djokovic is a king on hard courts.

Serena Williams v Catherine McNally Preview & Tips:
Williams isn’t just an overwhelming favourite in this second round encounter against McNally, she is an overwhelming one to win the US Open 2019 title as well. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise when you see offers of 1/14 for a Serena win in this match, while even a straight-set win is going to get one 1/4 at best.
The 17-year-old is just in her second year of professional tennis and she had made it as far as the semi-final at the Washington Open before her US Open main draw debut. In her first round match she was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Timea Bacsinksky and will now hope she can push Serena Williams into a third set.

Karolina Pliskova v Mariam Bolkvadze Preview & Tips:
On paper, this should be a straightforward win for the third seeded Karolina Pliskova against the Georgian qualifier Bolkvadze. That said, in her first round match against Tereza Martincova, Pliskova was stretched to two tie-breakers and that could be an indicator of how things might pan out.
Pliskova, who is 10/1 to win the title this year, is 1/12 to win this one and a mere 8/25 to win it in straight sets. The better call would be to go for the total games market, with Pliskova expected to win in two but not before Bolkvadze also tests her out in this second round.

Kei Nishikori v Blaz Klahn Preview & Tips:
This is Nishikori’s favourite surface and beating an unseeded player trying to establish himself shouldn’t be too difficult for the Japanese seventh seed. The harder call to take is whether Nishikori can prevail in straight sets or if he might be taken to a fourth or a fifth. Looking at Nishikori to ruthlessly end Klahn’s stay in the tournament in straight sets.
