Caroline Wozniacki v Bianca Andreescu Head to Head

The two professional tennis stars met at the start of the season in WTA Auckland, where Andreescu won against Wozniacki in straight sets.

Andreescu, with a Scintillating Run

The 19-year-old Canadian has had a pretty remarkable season so far and by the looks of it, she has no intention of slowing down any time soon. Currently ranked World No. 15 on the tour, she holds a win-loss tally of 38-4 – the best on the circuit at the moment and has won two singles titles in the process too!

She has proven to be a very difficult player to defeat – the only thing that could stop her run was a shoulder injury, which kept her out of action for a few months.

Andreescu was a runner-up in Auckland and later won the Indian Wells Open and WTA Newport Beach. She also made it to the latter rounds of big-ticket events on more than one occasion. Most recently, she won the Rogers Cup after defeating the likes of Kiki Bertens, Karolina Pliskova, and Serena Williams.

Clearly, Bianca is an exceptional tennis star – one who is already accustomed to beating top 10 players. She is brilliant on hard courts and so far in the Flushing Meadows, she is yet to drop a set. Till now, she has defeated Katie Volynets and Kirsten Flipkens to reach the round three.

Wozniacki, Slowly Finding her Groove

After playing with injuries for most of this season, it finally appears that Caroline Wozniacki is getting her form together. Or, at the very least, she is on the track to do so.

With a win-loss tally of 14-12, she has failed to move past the third round in any tournament since the Charleston Open in April, earlier this season. In fact, in the build-up to the US Open, she lost in the early stages of the Rogers Cup and Cincinnati Open to Iga Swiatek and Dayana Yastremska respectively.

But US Open is a tournament that is close to the Dane – after all, this is where she achieved a lot of her Grand Slam success. Looking to emulate her run from the 2014 season, she has had a rather tough start so far here in New York.

With two, back to back three-setters, Wozniacki has had to fight hard to earn her victories. She defeated Danielle Collins with 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a very spirited display of skill and desire to make amends to poor form.

Wozniacki v Andreescu Predictions & Tips

This will be a tough one for Wozniacki. Given the form Andreescu is in at the moment, she can very well subdue the Dane without as much as batting an eye. However, the number 19 seed is rich in experience and can defeat the Canadian teen, provided she sticks to her roots and digs deeper into her previous wins. All in all, we have an exciting match on our hands!

Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 4/5 (888Sport)
