Stefanos Tsitsipas v Felix Auger-Aliassime Head to Head

The pair have met twice before, each meeting coming this year. Auger-Aliassime beat the Greek in straight sets at Indian Wells, and again at the Queen’s Club Championships in June.

Tsitsipas Hoping to Push on in the Second Half of the Season

21-year-old Tsitsipas had an excellent first half of the season. He reached the semi-final in Melbourne, won his second and third career titles in Marseille and Estoril respectively, and made his maiden Masters final, losing to Novak Djokovic on the clay of Madrid. In the process, he firmly established himself as a top ten player.

Although he made the fourth round in Roland Garros and the semi-finals in Washington, he suffered the disappointment of going out at the first round stage at both Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows, events where he had been tipped to do well.

He also lost at the first time of asking in Montreal and Zhuhai. His run to the final in Beijing last week was a welcome return to form, as he claimed the scalps of John Isner and Alexander Zverev, before he went down to Dominic Thiem.

Auger-Aliassime, Canadian Number One at Eighteen

18 year old Auger-Aliassime, who is currently the youngest player to be ranked in the world’s top 100, had arguably even more of a sensational start to the season, reaching three finals – in Rio, Lyon, and Stuttgart – and making the semi-final of the Miami Masters. Although results since then have failed to match that level, he has still done enough to overtake Milos Raonic as Canada’s top ranked player.

He now looks nailed on for a place in the NextGen ATP Finals in Milan next month, currently second in the standings behind his opponent on Wednesday.

The Canadian came through his first round match with Alexander Bublik on Tuesday, when the Kazakh retired during a rain delay in the second set, with Auger-Aliassime leading by a set and four games to love at the time.

Tsitsipas v Auger-Aliassime Predictions & Tips

Tsitsipas is the odds-on favourite to win this match at 11/20, whilst Auger-Aliassime is priced at 147/100. Given that the Canadian has won their only two meetings, both this year, the odds are quite generous for the Greek, and this could be a very close match, which will require three sets to separate the pair.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in three sets: 3/1 (888Sport)
