Marin Cilic v Jeremy Chardy Head to Head

The pair have met five times so far on tour, with the Croat having won three times. He has won both the Grand Slam clashes against the Frenchman. Once at the Wimbledon in 2016 and the US Open in 2015.

Cilic Looking to End Season on Positive Note

Not since 2008 has Cilic had a win-loss ratio of less than 60% in a season. This year his record is 23-16, a ratio of 59%. This is also his worst year in terms of a number of victories achieved in a year since 2005, where he only won 18 matches.

A mix of consistent injuries and inconsistent form has seen his world rankings drop from as high as number three last year to number 28 at present, once again his lowest since 2014.

His second half of the season has been slightly better with impressive performances at Washington, where he reached the quarter-finals and at the US Open, where he reached the round of 16. He is the third seed at Moscow this week, and he will take confidence from the fact that he was the champion at this event on consecutive years in 2014 & 2015.

Marin Cilic v Jeremy Chardy Predictions & Tips

Cilic has had a forgettable season, and injuries and loss of form have troubled him throughout the year. In the last month though, he has shown some signs of some of the form that took him to world number three not so long ago. Chardy would struggle to keep up with the strong serve and powerful baseline shots of Cilic.

The Croat would have an advantage on the indoor courts.
