Roberto Bautista Agut v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head

There have been four previous matches played between these two and Bautista-Agut has won three of those. Only one of these matches came on a hard court surface, which was in the 2019 ATP Dubai where Basilashvili won in three sets.

Bautista-Agut Rolls Past Rublev

On another day, on another occasion it might have been difficult to beat Rublev with the kind of form he has had in recent times. However, Bautista-Agut took full toll of the rustiness associated with having played no competitive tennis all week, something that Rublev displayed in his match against the Spaniard.

Rublev, who had a first round bye in the tournament, had been given walkovers by his injured second round and quarterfinal opponents, making this his first match of the season. And that lack of tennis showed, allowing Bautista-Agut to take full toll of his opponent’s struggles.

In just under an hour and quarter, Bautista-Agut broke Rublev early in the first set to race through a win there but it was in the second set that things started to turn around for the Russian. Unfortunately for him, Bautista-Agut shut the door close on Rublev, by breaking him thrice in the set to losing his serve once.

Bautista-Agut will now be aiming for his 10th overall title and first since the 2019 edition of the Doha Open.

Basilashvili Continues Streak

If one thought that the Roger Federer three-setter would take enough out of Basilashvili for him to struggle in his very next match against Taylor Fritz then one thought wrong. Because Basilashvili stormed into the final by beating Fritz 7-6, 6-1.

It was a difficult start for Basilashvili in a match that lasted one hour and 16 minutes as he lost serve and fell 2-0 down. However he broke back immediately and while the rest of their set remained a cagey affair he did well to win the tie-breaker.

With the momentum under his belt the second set proved to be a lot easier for Basilashvili as he tamed the booming Fritz serve with utmost ease.

This victory follows on of Basilashvili’s best ever career wins that had come against Federer in the previous round. Basilashvili needed to save a match point in that encounter to make it to the semi final.

Can he now win his second ATP title?

Bautista Agut v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip

It is reading to be an easy win for Bautista-Agut, with an offer of 1/3 for that and 8/11 for him to win in straight sets. Going for that scoreline.

Tip: Bautista-Agut to win in straight sets: 8/11 (bet365)
