Nikoloz Basilashvili v Thiago Monteiro Head to Head
The pair have met once before in the first round of the French Open last year, Monteiro winning in straight sets.

Basilashvili has already enjoyed success in 2021, winning is fourth ATP career title in Doha last month. Since then, though, he has found success more elusive, and he was beaten in the first round in both Dubai and Miami.
He stopped that particular sequence by reaching the third round in Sardinia, where he was eventually beaten by Laslo Djere, but he had to withdraw midway through is first round match with Filip Krajinovic with injury.
And last week, he went down in three sets to the Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in Barcelona, which is why it would be interesting to see if he can get back to some of his winning ways on a surface that isn’t quite his favourite.

Monteiro Looking to Translate South American Form to Europe
Monteiro has an excellent record on clay on the junior tours, but the majority of those wins have come on South American soil. He has found success harder to come by when he has crossed the Atlantic to Europe,
That has also held true this year, where after getting to the second round of the Australian Open for the first time, he was a quarter-finalist in Cordoba, and then the following week reached the second round in Buenos Aires.
He did not reappear on tour again before he made an unsuccessful attempt to qualify for Monte Carlo.
He was given a place in the main draw in Barcelona last week, but his run was ended almost before it started, beaten in the first round in straight sets by local man Jaune Munar.
Basilashvili v Monteiro Prediction and Tip
This is a difficult match to call. Monteiro won their only previous encounter last year easily enough, but that was a comparatively rare victory for him in Europe, Basilashvili can be inconsistent, but he is tipped to find some form on this occasion.
