Alexander Bublik v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head

There has been just one match at the highest level and Bublik won that Marseille Open encounter in 2020 in straight sets. At the Challengers, it’s 1-1 with Bublik winning one on clay.

Bublik Makes Slow Start on Clay

A final in Singapore, and a quarterfinal at the Miami Masters have been the standout performances from the racquet of Bublik this season. But come the clay court swing, things haven’t begun that well for the world number 43.

Bublik started off in Monte-Carlo Masters with a loss to Jeremy Chardy and while he raised a few eyebrows with a victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the opener at Barcelona, there followed two successive losses from there on.

It started with a straight-set loss to Alex De Minaur in the second round at Barcelona and then an opening defeat in Estoril to the little-known Spaniard Pedro Martinez pushed Bublik back again.

With an overall win-loss record of 6-8 on clay, Bublik will find it difficult to get going here.

Fucsovics Falls in Monte Carlo Opener

Like Bublik, Fucosvics made a solid start to the season on hard court surfaces, which included a final appearance on the indoor hard courts of Rotterdam Open.

He then moved to Dubai where he reached the quarterfinal before a fourth successive defeat to Andrey Rublev in as many tournaments – including one walkover – saw him crash out of the Miami Masters third round as well.

A change of environment didn’t help either. Featuring on clay for the first time this season, Fucsovics was absolutely demolished by Lorenzo Sonego, losing 6-3, 6-4 in the opener at Monte Carlo.

Having reached the second round in Madrid the last time it was played, Fucsovics would like to emulate that at the very least and with a career clay record of 30-25 in his favour, he would give himself a decent chance here.

Bublik v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

Fucsovics is 2/5 to win, and 1/1 to do that in straight sets which is what we are looking at given how Bublik has struggled to get going on this surface.

Tip: Fucsovics to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
