Amanda Anisimova v Magda Linette Head to Head
The tally is currently tied at 1-1 with Anisimova getting the last laugh, as recently as the WTA Charleston earlier this year. The 19-year-old won that match 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

Competing for the second time here at the SW19, Amanda Anisimova will be hoping for a positive start. It should not be that difficult, given that she is coming fresh off a quarterfinal run in WTA Bad Homburg last week.
En route, the young American dispatched Danka Kovinic and Andrea Petkovic in straight sets before falling to the eventual champion Angelique Kerber.
It was the second time that Anisimova had a spell like that in 2021; the last instance was the WTA Parma back in May where she was beaten by Cori Gauff in the exact round. Apart from that, she hasn’t been able to make an impact on the WTA Tour. It is perhaps for this reason that she has fallen down to No. 81 in the singles ranking.
Following a breakthrough year in 2019 when won she her maiden singles and reached the semis in the French Open, Anisimova rose to prominence and showed a great deal of promise. And all things considered, she has done well for the most part so far and continues to be a formidable opponent.

Linette Looking Confident of a Good Start
29-year-old Magda Linette has had a couple of decent tournaments on the tour recently. Just last month, she reached the semifinal in the Strasbourg Open and built on it with a third-round stint in the French Open.
However, in Eastbourne International last week, Linette fell in her opening qualifying match to Camila Giorgi. Having started her season only in March with the Miami Open, most of Linette’s tournaments went along the same lines. Between WTA Charleston and the Italian Open, the Polish featured in four tournaments but lost her first-round fixtures in all of them.
The last time Linette was here at the Wimbledon (2019), she made it to the third round. Given that her opponent is significantly younger and lacks experience, she will fancy her chances once again of such a run.

Anisimova v Linette Prediction and Tip
This is an evenly-matched game that can very well go either way. Linette has the experience while Anisimova, a prodigy in the making, has got the right ingredients to hit above her weight. She has beaten more experienced players in the past and may very well do so again, albeit it won’t be an easy job.
