Ranked just within the top 250 in the world, he was a Lucky Loser at Eastbourne on the grass and defeated Andreas Seppi and Gael Monfils.
With Andy Murray pulling out here with a quad strain, Purcell played Felix Auger-Aliassime again as a lucky loser and prevailed in a huge upset in straight sets 6-4, 7-6.
The Aussie is making a mark on the tour and will believe in himself to run the ride here a little longer.
