Jozef Kovalik v Jaume Munar Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, earlier this year in a Challenger tournament in Antalya, Munar winning in three sets.

Czech Kovalik had to come through two rounds of qualifying just to make the main draw in Kitzbuhel, beating first Leandro Reedy of Switzerland, and then Mario Vilella Martinez of Spain, both in straight sets.
Alternating between the main and Challenger tours this year, his best performance to date in a senior event came back in February in Argentina, when he reached the quarter-final in Cordoba before losing to local man Facundo Bagnis.
Since then, he made the second round in Sardinia, again after qualifying, and was beaten in the first round in Santiago and failed to qualify for either the French Open or Wimbledon.
His last tournament prior to this was Bastad, where he suffered another first-round defeat, to the Frenchman Benoît Paire.

Munar Has a Runnerup Trophy This Year
As a junior Munar won the Davis Cup with Spain and was a beaten finalist at the French Open in singles, losing to Andrey Rublev.
Success on the main tour continues to elude him, although earlier this year he did reach his first final on home soil in Andalucía, beaten by compatriot Pablo Carrena-Busta in three sets.
And the previous month, together with partner Federico Delbonis, he was beaten in the final of the Chile Open double.
Since that loss in Marbella though, Munar has found wins hard to come by, and he suffered four first round losses in a row before getting to the-finals in Parma, eventually losing to Marco Cecchinato.
But another bad run ensued, and he has lost his last five matches. A sequence that includes first round defeats in Mallorca, Wimbledon, Hamburg, and Umag.

Despite his poor recent run, Munar has proved already this year he is capable of better things and he has already beaten the Czech player in 2021. Expect a Munar win here.
