This win set up a tie with 2-time Australian Open champion Azarenka, a player who Riske has yet to face off against throughout her career. Alison is going to have to serve well again and play her best under pressure if she wishes to advance to the last-16.

Azarenka Overcomes Samsonova
Azarenka successfully avenged her Berlin loss In Cincinnati against Russian Liudmila Samsonova, winning the encounter 6-2 6-3 in 1-hour 11 minutes. The 32-year-old played a strong return game, successfully coming out on top 57% of the time, including winning 50% of 1st serve return points.
This constantly put pressure on the Russian and Azarenka was able to break on 5 occasions, successfully converting 5/7 break point opportunities. In fact, Azarenka managed to win 63% of her return games and 78% of her service games.
Azarenka will be looking to continue this against Riske, she managed to record an impressive 69% 1st serve percentage in her opening round, instantly limiting Samsonovas opportunities.
The Belarusian player has the capability to use her forehand and backhand down-the-line to move the American around and take control of the points.
