Casper Ruud v Lloyd Harris Head to Head

Ruud has won both their previous two meetings. He won at Winston Salem in 2019 after Harris retired while trailing 1-6.

This year, Ruud came back from a set down to beat Harris in Indian Wells in three.

Ruud’s Been Brilliant Throughout the Season

He has had a fantastic season and will be looking to keep the impressive run going in the final few tournaments of the year.

The Norwegian is one win away from 50 wins this season and the 49-13 record includes five titles, including his first ever title on hard court.

A solid clay court player, Ruud picked four titles on the surface this year, in Geneva, Bastaad, Gstaad and Kitzbuhel and won his first hard court title in San Diego. As a result of this phenomenal success, Ruud has made massive gains in the rankings, becoming the first Norwegian into the top 10.

Currently ranked No. 9 in the world, Ruud is 19-6 on hard courts this year, a considerable improvement from the past years. Since winning in San Diego, he reached the Round of 16 in Indian Wells and is 6-1 from the past seven matches.

This will be his second appearance in Vienna; he lost in the first round to Jannik Sinner last year.

Harris Brings Good Form From Antwerp

Lloyd Harris is coming off a solid performance in Antwerp. He won the first three rounds without dropping a set but couldn’t match up to the level of Jannik Sinner in the semifinal.

The 24-year-old, who reached a maiden major quarterfinal at the U.S. Open this year, is 30-21 for the season. His run to the semifinal in Antwerp was his second this year.

Earlier he had made it to the final in Dubai, but finished runner-up after falling to Aslan Karatsev.

Ranked No. 32 in the world, Harris is 21-12 on hard courts and will be hoping to impress in his first showing in Vienna.

Ruud v Harris Prediction and Tip

They played a very close match in Indian Wells and one can expect this contest to go the distance as well. However, given how Ruud has been playing this year, the Norwegian should edge through.
