Barbora Krejcikova v Karolina Pliskova Head to Head

Pliskova is 2-0 from their previous meetings, winning in Bratislava in 2011 and at Roland Garros in 2018.

Krejcikova Is 0-2 After First Two Matches

She was overpowered by Annett Kontaveit in the first match and then couldn’t capitalise on a one set lead in the second match against Garbine Muguruza. Now the French Open champion faces a  tough challenge to stay alive in the tournament.

Lying fourth in the table, Barbora Krejcikova is still searching for her first WTA Finals win. To stay on hunt for a semifinal spot, the Czech will have to win her final match. And then wait for the result of the second contest to find out her fate. A straight sets win over Pliskova followed by a win for Kontaveit will assure her a spot in the semifinals behind Kontaveit.

A three-set win over Pliskova followed by a win for Kontaveit will see the Estonian go through as the winner of the group, while the second pot will be decided on the basis of highest percenateg of games won.

The 25-year-old World no. 3, who is on a five-match losing streak, will hope to end a terrific year on a high and a straight sets win on Sunday could extend her season by another match.

Pliskova Brings a 1-1 Record to the Final Match

Karolina Pliskova began the tournament with a come-from-behind win over Spain’s Garbine Muguruza, edging out the sixth seed 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) in a thrilling contest. She however couldn’t match up to the level of the red-hot Kontaveit in the next match, falling to the Estonian 6-4, 6-0.

For Pliskova to qualify, she needs to win her final match against Krejcikova and then wait for the outcome of the final match of the group.

A Pliskova win followed by Kontaveit beating Muguruza, will assure Pliskova a spot in the semifinals. However, if Muguruza wins in straight sets, then Pliskova will be knocked out.

Another scenario that will work in Pliskova’s favour is if she wins in straight sets against Krejcikova and Muguruza wins the final match, but in three. A three-set win for Pliskova followed by a Muguruza win will serve the Czech no good.

So there is still lots to play for for the world No. 4 who is 36-19 for the season, but hasn’t won a title this year, despite three runner-up finishes in big events, including the Wimbledon.

Krejcikova v Pliskova Prediction and Tip

Things look really difficult for Krejcikova and her singles form hasn’t been good. So expect Pliskova to win. A two-set win for the 29-year-old will brighten her chances as then Muguruza will have to win in straight sets.

Tip: Pliskova to win in straight sets: 13/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
