Filip Krajinovic v Alejandro Tabilo Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the Serb, who is 29, and his Chilean opponent, five years his junior.

Krajinovic Hoping to Continue Winning Run

Krajinovic is currently the third highest ranked Serbian player, although he ended 2021 lower in the ATP standings than he was when the year started.

Yet to win a senior event on tour, he has been in four finals, but ended on the losing side on each occasion. Those defeats included the Paris Masters in 2017, and, most recently, the Hamburg Open last July, when he was beaten in straights sets by the Spaniard Pablo Carreno-Busta.

This is his debut in the ATP Cup but he has successfully represented Serbia in the Davis Cup, twice being a semi0-finalist with them, including last month, and also being part of the team that has made the quarter-finals on three other occasions.

Tabilo Looking to Progress in 2022

Unlike Krajinovic, Tabilo ended last year on a high note after winning his first Challenger title in Ecuador, a victory that propelled him to a career high ranking. He also reached the final of another Challenger event in Mexico shortly after that.

And Australia holds good memories for him – he qualified form his first Grand Slam here two years ago, and won his first-round match before eventually losing to John Isner.

That remains the only time to date that he has made the main draw of a Grand Slam, but he will be looking to improve on that record in 2022, and will also be hoping for more opportunities on the main tour.

The 24-year-old has been a member of Chile’s Davis Cup squad for the past two years, although his 1 – 3 record indicates there is room for improvement there as well.

Krajinovic v Tabilo Prediction and Tip

Krajinovic should have too much ability and guile for an opponent who is still relatively inexperienced at this level. Just a glance at comparative world rankings suggests a straightforward victory for the Serb.
