Federico Delbonis v Michail Pervolarakis Head to Head

Federico Delbonis, currently ranked World No. 44, started his ATP Cup 2022 campaign with a clinical 6-1, 6-2 win over Georgia’s Aleksandre Metreveli. He won 86% of his first service points and converted six out of nine break points to put Argentina at the top of Group D.
Last season wasn’t that great for the 31-year-old Argentinean as he looks to deliver better performance this time around.
He ended the year with a win-loss tally of 23-24 with zero titles to show for. In fact, nine of those 24 losses came consecutively in the final leg of the season – stretching across Kitzbuhel in Austria to the US Open swing and later, Paris Masters.
Delbonis did fare well in the clay swing, notably reaching the semifinal in Santiago, Belgrade, and Hamburg, and the quarterfinal in the Rome Masters.
As for his previous stint in the ATP Cup, this is the first time that Delbonis is featured in the competition.

Pervolarakis, Looking to Impress
Michail Pervolarakis didn’t have that great of a start to the 2022 season. He succumbed to Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak in straight sets, effectively putting Greece at third place in the group.
He now finds himself in a must-win match but it is a tall order to deliver for the #399-ranked player. The 25-year-old spent the majority of his previous season on the ITF and Challenger circuits. Pervolarakis reached a couple of finals in the former but couldn’t quite go the distance.
This is his third time in the ATP Cup and not so surprisingly, he is yet to win a match in the tournament. Given his lack of pedigree and possible experience, it is quite unlikely that will change on Monday.
Delbonis v Pervolarakis Prediction and Tip
Delbonis will start as the heavy odds-on favourite, owing to his experience and overall form. Anything but a win is simply unacceptable from the Argentinean. Expect a straightforward match with no surprises.
