Veronika Kudermetova v Anhelina Kalinina Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before and that was just a few months ago in Linz, Kudermetova winning in three sets.

2021 was a breakthrough year for the Russian on the ATA tour, as she won her first senior singles title, defeating Danika Kovicic of Montenegro in the final on the clay of Charleston.
And, then showing her adaptability, she reached her first Grand Slam final, having to settle for the runners-up spot at Wimbledon with partner Elina Vesnina. That same month the pair finished just outside the medal places in Tokyo in fourth.
Another runners-up place in doubles was secured at Indian Wells in October, this time partnered by Elena Rybakina.
The Russian has begun the Nee Year strongly, reaching the final in Melbourne, beating Veronika Kuzmova of Slovakia, Madison Brengle of the USA and compatriot Anastasia Potapova along the way, before benefitting when Naomi Osaka pulled out of their semi-final with an abdominal injury.
However, she found Simona Halep of Romania, currently ranked 26 in the world too strong for her and was beaten in straight sets on Sunday.

Kalinina Looking to Push On in 2022
Kalinina can look back on 2021 with a great deal of satisfaction. On the ITF tour she won four titles, and was runner-up in another final, with her most recent success coming in November at an event played in France.
And, on the senior tour, she broke into the top 100 for the first time, and reached her first final, beaten by Yulia Putintseva on the clay of Budapest in July.
The Ukrainian also has found memories of Australia – as a junior, she won the doubles title at the Australian Open back in 2014 with partner Elizaveta Kulichova.
In 2022 she will be hoping to consolidate the gains made last year, but, last week she lost her first match of the new season, well beaten in straight sets by the Danish teenager Clara Tauson in Melbourne.
Kudermetova v Kalinina Prediction and Tip
Given that Kudermetova won the only match between the pair a few months ago, she will begin favourite to win this match as well, although it took her three sets on that occasion, and it would be no surprise if that is what it takes for her to beat Kalinina this time as well.
