Madison Keys v Qiang Wang Head to Head
Keys and Wang have faced each other several times over the past couple of years. All of their matches came in 2018 with Keys leading 2-1. The American won both hard court matches while Wang won the indoor one.

Madison Keys is a name that is very well known in the tennis community. After all, the former world number 7 is a grand slam finalist (US Open 2017) as well as a 2x grand slam semifinalist. Since that final, her tennis has not been good though but it’s rising again.
Entering 2022 with a lot of motivation to move past an abysmal 2021, Keys currently has an 8-1 record with an active 7-match win streak. She played superb tennis so far his year capturing the title in Adelaide last week.

A Slow Decline For Wang?
Qiang Wang has been able to keep herself in the top 100 over the pandemic despite not playing much tennis or good tennis. The Chinese player is a veteran but she has been on a slow decline for years.
Her best days are long gone and currently, she is outside of the top 100 trending downwards. 2022 started badly for her as she arrived in Melbourne without a victory. That’s when things changed as she put forward a tremendous effort to take down Coco Gauff in straight sets.
She followed that up with another great performance against Alison Van Uytvanck taking down the Belgian in three sets. Can she keep it up against Keys remains to be seen but these two matches have been some of the best she played in a very long time..
Keys v Wang Prediction and Tip
They have played a couple of times before with each player scoring victories. Keys has usually dominated the matchup especially on hard courts such as we have in Melbourne which should indicate a favourable matchup for her.
In terms of the form shown, Keys has a clear edge. Wang played two great matches in Melbourne but the American has been playing well for close to two weeks now. It’s far more likely her form is genuine compared to Wang who might have been lucky a bit.
The conditions should favour Keys and her attacking style of play which is why I truly believe the American won’t have any issues here. Take Keys in two, don’t overthink it.
