The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 25 year old Dutchman, and the Hungarian, who is three years older.

Griekspoor Comeback Delights Local Crowd

Griekspoor, who was given a wildcard into his home event, delighted the local crowd in Rotterdam by coming from behind to beat the number seven seed and world number 14, in the first round on Tuesday.

The Russian made the stronger start, breaking Griekspoor in the sixth game and then again two games later, breezing through the second set.

And when the Dutchman was broken again midway through the second set, things looked bleak for him.

Karatsev served for the match, but, instead, Griekspoor broke back and forced a tie-break, which he eventually won.

The third set saw high drama, as Griekspoor was broken, levelled straight away, only to go a break down again.

Karatsev then held two match points on the Griekspoor serve, could not take any of them, and the Dutchman maximised his reprieve by breaking back to level things up next game.

That meant a tie-break during which the Russian dropped his serve four times. Griekspoor needed no second invitation when he was presented with his own match point.

Fucsovics Battle Past Serb

Fucsovics had his own battles in the first round against the Serb world number 36, Filip Krajinovic, and he had to come from behind to win.

The Hungarian made a bad start, dropping his opening service game, and, although he hit back to level straight away, he immediately dropped his serve again.  Krajinovic served out from there.

When Fucsovics was broken again at the start of the second set, it looked like he might be heading for an early exit. But he immediately broke back, and then wrested control of the set with another break.

The tide had turned in his favour by then, and he asserted his dominance by breaking the Serb at the start of the third set. One more break effectively ended the contest.

Griekspoor v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

This is likely to be a close match, but with the Dutch crowd behind him, Griekspoor might be able to just lift his game enough to reach the quarter-finals.
