Garbine Muguruza v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
It is 2-1 to Siniakova at the moment. The Czech has won their last two encounters on the WTA Tour, including their recent meeting in the 2021 Canadian Open.

Katerina Siniakova is at the top of her game, at least on the doubles circuit. She won the Australian Open and Melbourne Set doubles this season – respectively with Barbora Krejcikova and Bernarda Pera. She is rightly crowned as the Doubles World No. 1 and is hardly showing any signs of slowing down.
However, the 25-year-old hasn’t quite emulated these results or even the form on the singles tour. Siniakova, who is the current #45, has lost her opening-round bouts in her last four tournaments.
The defeats have come at the hands of Anett Kontaveit, Anna Bondar, and Cori Gauff.
Here in Dubai, Siniakova started as a qualifier and overcame Jaqueline Cristian, Madison Inglis, and Jil Teichmann – all in straight sets – to reach the main draw. She has built some confidence and momentum and will be hopeful of toppling Muguruza.

Muguruza, Coming off a Rocky Run
World No. 6 Garbine Muguruza is the defending champion in WTA Dubai 2022. She won the title last year in what proved to be an overall fantastic season for the Spaniard.
The 28-year-old clinched the trophies in Dubai, Chicago, and the year-end WTA Finals – in addition to being a runner-up at the Qatar Open and Yarra Valley Classic. On the back of these results and wins over the top 10 players on the circuit, Mugurza climbed back into the top 10.
So far this season, however, her form has been a far cry from what we have come to expect of Muguruza. In Sydney, she succumbed to Daria Kasatkina in the quarterfinal while in Melbourne major, she lost to Alize Cornet in the second round with 3-6, 3-6.
These erratic results are not completely out of character for the number four seed and she is known to bounce back from these ruts.
Muguruza v Siniakova Prediction and Tip
This match can go either way but Muguruza will start as the odds-on favourite. But the fact that she has lost to Siniakova twice already may make this match a bit more challenging for her.
