Korda Looking to Build on 2021

Korda is looking to build on the achievements of 2021 which included his first ATP title, reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon, reaching a career high ranking, and ending the year runner-up in the NextGen ATP finals.

He began the year at the Australian Open where he was making his main draw debut.

In the first round he produced a minor upset by knocking out the number 12 seed – and top seed in Delray Beach – Cameron Norrie of Great Britain in convincing fashion, and then he beat Corentin Moutet of France. His run was eventually ended by the world number 18, Pablo Carreno-Busta of Spain, beaten in four sets.

Delray Beach is his first tournament since then, and he got his campaign off to a strong start with a comprehensive defeat of Thanasi Kokkinakis, the Australian Open doubles champion, dropping just three games to the world number 94.

Seppi’s Second Successive Second Round Appearance

At 37, Seppi is now in the twilight of a career that has seen him ranked as high as 18 in the world, and win three career titles.

He rolled back the years in September by reaching the third round of the US Open, but then did not win a match in the main draw of an ATP event until last week in Dallas,

That long winless run was ended when he beat the German Daniel Altmaier in the first round, before he was beaten by the man who went on to make the final, Jenson Brooksby.

And, as if to prove that German opponents are very much to his liking, he beat another in the form of Peter Gojowczyk, the world 96, in the first round of this event as well.

The first set was littered with errors on both sides of the net, and each had already dropped their serve three times, before the German was broken again serving to stay in the set.

Both men tightened up after that, and there were no further breaks until Gojowczyk, serving to stay in the match, dropped his serve with terminal consequences.

Korda v Seppi Prediction and Tip

Korda has won both of their two previous matches, and he will start the heavy favourite to do so again, against a man whose appearances in the second round of events are rare these days.

Tip: Korda to win in straight sets: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
