Since her breakthrough run at the US Open last year, 19-year-old Emma Raducanu is yet to deliver a similar result on the WTA Tour.
Her two-week campaign at the Flushing Meadows saw her beat the likes of Shelby Rogers, Belinda Bencic, Maria Sakkari, and Leylah Fernandez to bag her maiden Grand Slam trophy and make a top 25 debut, all the way from the #150.
Between then and now, Raducanu’s best results have come in the Transylvania Open where she was a quarterfinalist.
So far in 2022, she was downed in the first round in Sydney by Elena Rybakina, and by Danka Kovinic in the round of 64 in the Australian Open.
By the looks of it, Raducanu still has ways to go on the tour and the tournament in Guadalajara gives her a good opportunity to build some momentum.

Saville, Playing under Protected Ranking
Daria Saville hasn’t played a whole lot of professional tennis in the last few years. In fact, since August 2019, the Australian has featured only in 10 tournaments – four of which came this season.
Her performance in them has been rather underwhelming, to say the least. Saville is yet to win a main-draw match on the WTA Tour, having lost in the opening rounds in all Australian events.
The 27-year-old also played in an ITF event but went as far as round two before losing to Asia Muhammad.
Overall, Saville has a rich pedigree but has faded from the scene owing to a lack of results. As a former World No. 20 (currently ranked #610), Saville has won a Premier title in Connecticut and reached the final in Moscow, Strasbourg, and Hong Kong.
Raducanu v Saville Prediction and Tip
In a way, this match is an ideal fixture for both players. Raducanu will fancy her prospects against the out-of-form Saville while the latter will look to tap into her superior experience and make quick work of the Brit.
However, Raducanu will start as the odds-on favourite.
