This was Millman’s best tournament to date after suffering opening round defeats in Adelaide, and Adelaide 2. At the Australian Open, Millman reached the second round, defeating Lopez in round one in 4-sets before falling to Zverev 6-4 6-4 6-0 in the round-of-64. Millman then also suffered a first-round defeat in Dallas to Nakashima.
Looking to post his second win over Giron in 2 weeks and level the H2H between the two players, a win for Millman would set up a tie with either Otte or 8th seed Carreno-Busta.

Giron Hoping For Another Run Like in Dallas
Giron arrives in Acapulco with his latest defeat being to his next opponent, which is not the best start for the American, but he will see it as an opportunity to avenge the loss. Giron reached the second round of Delray Beach by defeating Sandgren in round one 7-5 6-3, then losing to Millman.
Prior to this, Giron managed to reach the last-4 in Dallas beating Sandgren again in round one and also posting wins against Broady and Fritz, before losing to Brooskby in the semis.
The Australian Open saw Giron draw one of the greatest Rafael Nadal, who ended up winning the event. Giron lost to Nadal 6-1 6-4 6-2.
Millman v Giron Prediction and Tip
This will be an interesting battle and despite being the lower-ranked player Millman managed to score a win over Giron. It will be interesting to see if he can get a second win in two weeks as it can be difficult to beat the same person after you have just beaten them. In a match that could easily go to 3-sets, I think Giron is marginally the favourite to avenge last week’s loss and defeat Millman in Acapulco.
